The Sapphire Swarovski Crystal is the September Birth Stone color. The faceted flat back Sapphire crystal is the perfect customization accessory for your favorite Commemorative Globe. At approximately 2.6 mm in diameter the Sapphire Swarovski crystal is small enough to be unobtrusive when mounted on your event globe but it is still large enough that the precision cut of the crystal creates a sparkling light show. Use the beautiful Sapphire crystal to mark the birth place of those born in the month of September, or as a complementary color to mark any important event location.
Commemorative Event Globes has chosen genuine Swarovski Crystals over all other crystals to complement our beautiful gemstone commemorative globes. Swarovski Crystals have a long history of excellence, dating back to the founding of the company in 1895. Like all Swarovski Crystals, the color of the Sapphire crystal is achieved through subtractive color by adding specific chemicals during the manufacturing process which absorb the unwanted colors from the light spectrum. While subtractive color in crystal requires far greater rigor and quality control, we are certain you will agree that the result is worth the extraordinary effort. In the only test that really matters, the Swarovski Sapphire Crystal simply out sparkles all of the lesser crystals!
The Swarovski flat back Sapphire crystal is a lead crystal. By definition, lead crystal contains a minimum of 24% lead oxide. In practice, Swarovski lead crystal contains approximately 32% lead. It is the addition of lead to the glass that creates the enhanced refractive and dispersion index. When combined with precision cutting and polishing, the result is a brilliant, sparkling, gemstone like faceted crystal bead.
When purchased in conjunction with a commemorative globe, the purchase price of your Swarovski Sapphire crystal includes mounting to your globe. For this reason it is vital that you specify the mounting location in the fields above. If you leave the mounting locations blank, the Sapphire crystal will be shipped to you un-mounted.
Please Note: If you wish to have more than 1 Sapphire crystal mounted to your commemorative globe; you will need to add each crystal to the shopping cart as a separate item.
NOTE: Due to the potential health risks connected with lead poisoning, Commemorative Event Globes does not recommend adding Swarovski lead crystals to commemorative globes that may be accessed by children. While the crystal manufacturing process creates a matrix which greatly retards the mobility of lead; even though highly unlikely, it is possible that unforeseen circumstances could arise that would make lead available for unintended exposure. It should be noted that Swarovski has stated their belief that under normal use conditions, the use of their products pose no significant risk to human health. Either way, it is not recommended that you make any lead crystal products accessible to children, particularly those under the age of six. As a precautionary measure, anyone handling lead in any form should wash their hands thoroughly before eating to prevent the accidental ingestion of lead.
