The Crystal Swarovski Crystal is the Birth Stone color of the month of April. This flat back, faceted, Crystal crystal is the perfect customization accessory for use on a Commemorative Globe. At an approximate diameter of 2.6 millimeters, the Crystal Swarovski crystal is small enough that it can be unobtrusively mounted on on the surface of your event globe, but it is still large enough that the precision cut of the crystal creates a sparkling light show. As in all other Swarovski Crystals, the color of this flat backed crystal bead is achieved by the use of subtractive color through adding specific chemicals to the manufacturing process. The inclusion of these additional colors allows the Crystal to absorb unwanted colors of light from the visible spectrum. Though the use of subtractive color control in crystal requires implementation of far greater rigor and quality control, we are sure that you will agree with us when we say the result is more than worth this expanded effort. In the only test that really matters, the Swarovski Crystal Crystal simply out sparkles all of the lesser crystals!
The Swarovski flat back Crystal crystal is a lead crystal. By definition, lead crystal contains a minimum of 24% lead oxide. In practice, Swarovski lead crystal contains approximately 32% lead. It is the addition of lead to the glass that creates the enhanced refractive and dispersion index. When combined with precision cutting and polishing, the result is a brilliant, sparkling, gemstone like faceted crystal bead.
When purchased in conjunction with a commemorative globe, the purchase price of your Swarovski Crystal crystal includes mounting to your globe. For this reason it is vital that you specify the mounting location in the fields above. If you leave the mounting locations blank, the Crystal crystal will be shipped to you un-mounted.
